A bit about me as a designer

I’m a user experience and user interface designer with considerable experience in digital marketing, communications, project management and visual design.

I’m passionate about seeing creative projects from ideation to completion, and over the course of my career in the arts and not-for-profit industries I’ve demonstrated my commitment to designing impactful, human-centred experiences. This, together with my enthusiasm for connection and collaboration has made my recent transition to UX/UI design the clear next step.

I have a wealth of lived experience that has influenced my commitment to designing for inclusivity, diversity, accessibility and ethical good. I’m deeply fascinated with human psychology, mental health, and environmental and social impact.

My design process focuses on bridging gaps in understanding and easing user confusion and anxiety by creating useful, intuitive experiences. My capacity to deeply empathise with others allows me to quickly understand and then advocate for users, their needs and challenges, and then focus on solving the right problems to add the most value. I connect with others on a significantly emotional level and so strive to deliver digital interactions that will foster connection and ease apprehension.

I thrive with team synergy and enjoy being part of cross-functional teams that put their minds together to iteratively design complex solutions to life’s tricky problems. I enjoy connecting with and getting to know real users and am confident to conduct many types of user research.

I enjoy creating personas, wireframes and prototypes to visually communicate my myriad of ideas and excel in presenting and workshopping these with stakeholders. I love getting feedback on my designs and value the input of other designers.

I’m an agile problem solver and logistical thinker who can offer a diversity of perspective and a maturity that not only informs but enhances my collaborations. I’m proud to be part of the LGBTQI+ community and am committed to advocate for more gender diverse voices in the tech industry. I am keen to further hone my skills using a variety of design softwares and look forward to working with other designers in this capacity.

I am also interested in learning more about animation, generative AI, and augmented and virtual reality, and am excited about the opportunities that they present for enhancing user experiences and for solving all kinds of complex problems. I am a fast and eager learner and will continuously grow my skillset to stay on top of rapidly evolving technology and an ever growing design industry.
